Worth knowing. The background and fill rules are Shopee Mall’s; Shopee publishes none for other sellers, so they count as advice there.
A size that works everywhere. Square at 2,048 × 2,048 pixels, the size Shopify recommends, is inside every marketplace’s limits and sharp when zoomed.

What size should a Shopee product photo be?

Square (1:1), as a JPG or PNG of up to 10 MB. Shopee publishes no minimum pixel size; 2048 × 2048 pixels is a safe size that stays sharp when buyers zoom in.

How many photos can a Shopee listing have?

A cover photo plus up to 8 more, so 9 in all, and an optional video. The cover photo is the one buyers see in search, so it carries the listing.

Does the Shopee cover photo need a white background?

Shopee Mall asks for a solid background and recommends white; Shopee publishes no background rule for other sellers. A plain white background is the safe choice, and it is what buyers expect.

How much of the photo should the product fill on Shopee?

Shopee Mall asks for the product to cover at least 60% of the frame, whole and uncropped. For other sellers it is advice, and a good rule anyway: a small product in a big frame is hard to see in search.

Can I put text or a logo on the Shopee cover photo?

Shopee Mall rules out watermarks, borders, montages and added text on the cover, and allows only a small logo in the top-left corner, at most 10% of the frame. Keep offers and badges for the other photos.
