About Stensa
Stensa is a composition camera for iPhone. You pick a layout, set your things on the table, and Stensa guides each one into its place and takes the photo the moment they all line up.
What it is for
Stensa is made for people who photograph things on tables: small shops listing products on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop, cafés shooting their menus, and anyone who wants a flat lay, a drink or a headshot to look planned. It has fifty layouts, from one product in the middle to a row of three bottles and a waist-up portrait, and it knows what each guide is waiting for, so it can say “slide the cup left” rather than “move something”.
Everything runs on the iPhone. There is no account and no ads, and photos stay on the phone until you save or share them. The privacy policy says exactly what the app and this site do with data.
How our guides are made
The twelve photography guides are written for a phone and the things you already have, not for a studio.
- Researched from published sources. Each guide draws on the people who set the rules or know the craft: Apple’s own iPhone camera guides, the marketplaces’ seller centres, and photography teachers and editors. Every guide lists its sources at the end, with links.
- Dated. Each guide shows the day it was last updated, and the date changes when the guide does.
- Photos credited. The example photos are by working photographers, from Unsplash, and credited under each one. They show the technique; they are never presented as taken with Stensa.
- The app kept to its own section. The steps work with any camera. Stensa comes in at the end, in a section called “Doing it in Stensa”, so you can tell the advice from the app.
- Nothing paid for. No guide carries a sponsored placement or an affiliate link.
Each guide is also published as plain Markdown, at its address plus .md, for reading tools and assistants.
How the marketplace rules are checked
The photo checker tests a main photo against what Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop publish on their own seller pages, last checked 5 November 2026. Each checker page links to the pages its rules come from.
- A rule a marketplace does not publish is not made up. Where a rule applies only to some sellers, such as Shopee Mall’s white background, the checker calls it advice for everyone else.
- Where two of a marketplace’s pages disagree, the checker follows the newer one and the page notes the older.
- The check runs in your browser. The photo is never uploaded.
Corrections
Marketplaces change their rules, and we can get things wrong. If a rule has changed or something in a guide is not right, write to [email protected] with the page’s address and what you found. When a guide is corrected, its updated date changes with it.
